COMMUNITY PARTNERS

The Charleston Music Hall and Music Farm are dedicated to making a positive impact in our community. That’s why every quarter, we proudly join forces with a different charity or non-profit organization. Not only do we contribute a donation to support their cause, but we also offer them complimentary access to either the Charleston Music Hall or Music Farm as a venue for their events. Moreover, we actively promote the organization through our social media channels and newsletter, amplifying their message and encouraging others to get involved. We firmly believe that venues are not only valuable artistic resources for communities, but also have the power to foster positive change within the communities they serve. We have had the privilege of collaborating with some remarkable organizations thus far, and we encourage you to explore their work and consider making a donation if you resonate with their mission.

Q4 2024 Community Partner: Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission

Their Mission: The Charleston County Park & Recreation Commission operates over 11,000 acres of property, including regional parks, beach parks, a historic plantation site, landmark fishing piers, waterparks, boat landings, a climbing wall, a challenge course, an interpretive center, an equestrian center, cottages, a campground, a marina, and event facilities. We also offer a variety of recreational services – festivals, camps, classes, programs, and more.

Q3 2024 Community Partner: Ben’s Friends

Their Mission: Ben’s Friends is a community of chefs, bartenders, line cooks, servers, sommeliers, host and hostesses, GMs and owners who have found or are seeking sobriety. Our mission is to offer community, hope and a path forward for those struggling with substance abuse and addiction. At our core, we are hospitality workers who have found connection, and the tools to seek and maintain sobriety while managing our careers and lives in a sane and purposeful way.

Q2 2024 Community Partner: Alliance For Full Acceptance (AFFA)

Their Mission: To achieve, nurture, and defend equality and full acceptance for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people. To dispel the myths and half-truths that trap us all – about economy, race, and origin; who we can and can’t be; who we can and can’t love; who’s entitled to freedom and expression, and who’s not; who’s valuable, and who’s expendable – and reveal our true essence and pride.

That’s why we root out ignorance, hatred, and inequity wherever they live – in courtrooms, in fine print, in emergency rooms and classrooms, in boardrooms and living rooms, in systems, institutions, and language, in private and public spaces – and replace them with knowledge, empathy, and justice.

Q1 2024 Community Partner: One80 Place

Their Mission: One80 Place ends and prevents homelessness and believes the only solution to homelessness is housing. What started as a simple shelter and soup kitchen has evolved over the last 39 years into a comprehensive homeless service center that provides not only emergency shelter, but an array of supportive services to help break down barriers to housing, encourage self-sufficiency, and ultimately help individuals and families maintain housing so that they never experience homelessness again.

Q4 2023 Community Partner: Toys for Tots

Their Mission: The basic mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Program is to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas.

Q3 2023 Community Partner: Charleston Waterkeeper

Their Mission: Charleston Waterkeeper is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2009 to protect and restore Charleston’s waterways for you and for future generations. We do that through an effective mix of boots-on-the-water stewardship and data-driven advocacy designed to protect your right to clean water for fishing and swimming. Simply put, we are watchdogs, stewards, and defenders for clean water.

Q2 2023 Community Partner: HEART: An Inclusive Arts Community

Their Mission: HEART provides visual arts, music, and performing arts mentorships and community engagement for adults with disabilities who want to grow and develop as artists. At HEART, we have created a studio where artists of all abilities work together to create something that enriches and transforms the community.

We chose HEART because of the great work they do with and for adults with disabilities. This organization is a true testament to the healing and helpful power of art. They have now produced and performed three original plays/musicals on our stage. Each one has been amazingly unique and filled with joy.

Q1 2023 Community Partner: ALS Association of SC

Their Mission: To discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.

We chose ALS Association for our Q1 charity partner because we have had several team
members who have lost loved ones to ALS recently, so this organization and their effort to treat and cure ALS is near and dear to us.

Q4 2022 Community Partner: Carolina Youth Development Center

Their Mission: To cultivate thriving children and families.

CYDC was found in 1790 and was one of America’s first publicly-funded orphanages. We were very impressed by their campus in North Charleston and all the great programs they offer children and their families.
