About The Simplicity
Charleston rock outfit The Simplicity was formed by John Bias, Tommy Merritt, and Drew Lewis with the goal to conquer every stage they step foot on. Influenced by rock n roll titans such as The Rolling Stones, The Stooges, and The Velvet Underground, this trio favors a dynamic approach in their performances, skirting the line between fast and loose rock songs and dramatic ballads. Their debut record “Dahlin’” was recorded in Charleston, SC with the help of Wolfgang Zimmerman (producer of Band of Horses, Susto and Brave Baby) and is available on all major streaming services.
About Hugo Hotel
Hi, I’m Garrett! Hotel Hugo is my new musical endeavor currently based in Charleston, SC. Like most of us, I needed a creative outlet to stay sane during the pandemic. I used that time learn the basics of music production and worked to hone my skills as a songwriter. With a fresh batch of demos, I enlisted the help of producer Preston Dunnavant and local musicians Dan Fetterolf (Daddy’s Beemer), Drew Lewis, and Tommy Merritt (The Simplicity). Together, we were able to turn my bedroom demos into full-fledged songs that I’m proud to get out into the world.
The first single, “paradise”, was released in February of 2022. Drawing inspiration from modern indie rock with some nods to sounds of the 60s and 70s, “paradise” paves the way for several upcoming singles to be released in 2022.
