Sunami is an American hardcore punk band formed in San Jose, California in 2019. Originally intended as a short-lived joke band by members of various San Francisco Bay Area hardcore bands, Sunami sought to parody the ignorant style of many hardcore bands on their 2019 demo Demonstration.

Pain of Truth are an American hardcore punk band formed in Long Island, New York in 2020. As of 2024, they have released one demo, one split EP and one studio album. Following the disbandment of his previous band Hangman, Michael Smith began to write and record songs during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

“The record encapsulates every single thing we’re about,” notes Brandon. “We’re five people who were born in small towns in the South. We were never supposed to leave these places; we were ‘supposed’ to live and die here. We’re surrounded by a lot of dark, but also beautiful history. For us, the simple fact we’re doing this is huge. We tried to craft an album that stands on its own, and we busted our asses to make it as different as we possibly could.”
