It was a secret.
An open secret for those that needed help, but a secret nonetheless.
More than fifty years later, most Americans have never heard of JANE. The story has faded into history. With the repeal of Roe v Wade, the time has come to tell that story…
Who was JANE? A Chicago group of roughly 100 women who, between 1969 and 1973, used code names and street-corner pickups to arrange as many as 11,000 illegal abortions. Born out of necessity, these young women put their own freedom at risk for others’ right to choose.
This is the true life story of JANE: Abortion and the Underground
