Death Ray Robin plays My Chemical Romance's Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge

We are stoked to bring back Emo Night Charleston with Death Ray Robin playing My Chemical Romance’s Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge in its entirety! MCR fans rejoice. Come out and sing along.

Death Ray Robin

Death Ray Robin is an Alt-R&B act featuring vocalist Desirée Richardson and a rotating cast of instrumentalists from Columbia, SC. Best known for her mellifluous soprano and straightforward yet poetic pop sensibilities, Richardson vacillates between genres, writing about themes of self-love, identity, revenge, forgiveness, and hope. Influenced by Regina Spektor and My Chemical Romance, Richardson’s flow from ethereal chorister to earth-shattering banshee is a spellbinding experience best witnessed in-person. Being that she was a choir girl, an avid listener of pop and R&B, and an inconsolable teen in 2007, it’s not difficult to understand why Richardson so comfortably stands between the worlds of “legit” singing and primal screams. “Classically trained, Richardson has an impressive vocal range and command as well as a writing style that is both refreshing and yet still comfortably familiar. She presents frustration, angst, and vulnerability in a beautifully melodic package that is a pleasure to listen to.” -The Jasper Project, September 2022

Tapping into unresolved teen angst and a flair for the dramatic, Death Ray Robin’s participation in South Carolina’s iteration of the Emo Night series is a match made in heaven. Death Ray Robin has enjoyed opening for Spencer Chamberlain (Underoath), Alex Melton, and Ashland at prior SC Emo Night Events. Richardson is joined by lead guitarist John Vail (Wretched, Vorov, Rex Darling), rhythm guitarist Tyler Gordon (Hillmouse), bassist Danielle Blood (Nahi Gruv), and drummer Will Galán (GALÁN).
