MetalRaven

MetalRaven had its beginning at a local open mic night early in 2020. Stephen Kelly came with his gear looking to play some classic heavy metal tunes with other musicians. In walked Michael Crowley. They hit it off right away and performed three songs together. One of them a Judas Priest song. They remember being told they were too loud and needed to turn it down! Then Stephen started playing a riff he had written while Michael belted out some lyrics on the spot with a melody he’d been working on and the magic was born. That song eventually become MetalRaven’s first song “Holy Water”. Stephen and Michael talked over the next few weeks and quickly realized they loved the same kind of music and had the same vision for a band. MetalRaven was officially formed. They continued to write more songs together while looking for other band members who wanted to play the same style of classic heavy metal. The band really jelled together with Jeff Llewellyn on drums, Tommy Forrest on bass and Dave Toohey on lead guitar, all very seasoned musicians. Their set list has grown to over 30 songs including 12 originals with more in the works.

In 2022 they started recording some of their originals. They released a 6 song EP  on Jan 28, 2023. It is now available for digit download purchase on our website. Recently, the talented Matt Nations has taken over the lead guitar spot and the band is seriously pounding out some head banging metal! Hope to see you at a MetalRaven show soon!!
