About 54 Bicycles
54 Bicycles will bring two full-sets of late 1990’s Widespread Panic live musical experience to the Music Farm on the birthday of Micheal “Mikey” Houser, the late and great lead guitarist from 1986-2002. Playing primarily Mikey-era sets, 54 Bicycles is a collection of musicians and Widespread Panic fans who believe preserving and re-creating these early live and intimate musical experiences for fans is important. And more importantly, a lot of fun for the band and the audience. The show is also serving as a fund raiser and awareness raising event for a historical preservation project to digitize unseen footage from the definitive Widespread Panic documentary film The Earth Will Swallow You, which was released in 2002. The unseen footage includes Mikey Houser before he passed away as Chris and Geoff Hansen and crew followed the band in the Summer of 2000. Fans familiar with the documentary film, and the Oak Mountain live video produced as a result of their efforts, know what an inspirational and important piece of history it is. We look forward to a party going on, many spirits strong with the Charleston Panic community at the Music Farm on Jan 6th.
